Ashley Gray McLeod

Ashley Gray McLeod attended Denison University in Granville, Ohio where she earned her BA in History and Philosophy. While in college she played varsity lacrosse, was philanthropy chairman of her sorority, and was the elections supervisor for the student government. After college she returned to Sarasota, Florida where she worked with the Sarasota County Attorney’s Office. She then attended Barry University School of Law in Orlando, Florida. During law school, she was a member of the Black Law Student Association, and served as both secretary and treasurer of the American Muslim Interfaith Network. Also during law school, Ashley Gray spent a summer in Italy with the Penn State Dickinson School of Law where she studied Comparative International Law and the International Sale of Goods.

Ashley Gray joined in February, 2010 and works in our Sarasota office. Her practice includes mortgage foreclosure defense, immigration, and general civil litigation.

Michael Vater

Michael Vater was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While attending North Allegheny High School in Wexford, Pennsylvania, Michael participated in Future Business Leaders of America and the National Forensics League earning State Champion and National Finalist distinction multiple times in extemporaneous and impromptu speaking. In High School, Michael clerked at the law offices of Houston-Harbaugh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania under the direction of Michael Turzai, now a member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

In the summer of 2004, Michael was one of fifteen students across the country selected to participate in the prestigious Summer Communications Leadership Development Program at General Electric. In 2005, Michael was selected to attend the exclusive study abroad program hosted by the University of Notre Dame – Australia, located in Fremantle, Western Australia. In recognition of his academic excellence, Michael was awarded the David T. Link Prize for highest GPA while studying abroad at the University of Notre Dame.

In 2006, Michael graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s degree from the College of Arts & Letters. Michael majored in Political Science and received a minor in the world-renown Kroc International Institute of Peace Studies Program. Michael graduated with Cum Laude distinction. Michael was a Dean’s List Scholar multiple times and was invited into Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honors Fraternity. Michael attended the University of Florida Levin College of Law. While attending law school, Michael participated in a multi-year clerkship with Terrence Kann, P.A. in Gainesville, Florida. Michael received the Certificate of Excellence for his Pro Bono work with Community Legal Services, a legal clinic located in Ocala, Florida. Michael also received a Certificate of Distinction for his Community Service Participation in Law School. Michael was a member of the University of Florida Entertainment Law Review and Student Honor Committee. Michael was also a member of the International Law Society, the Association for Law & Business, and Sports & Entertainment Law Association. Additionally, Michael served as a two-time Representative to the John Marshall Bar Association. In the summer of 2008, Michael completed coursework in International Business Law in Paris and Montpellier, France through the Universite Montpellier II. After graduating law school in 2009, Michael participated in a post-graduate fellowship at the University of Florida General Counsel’s office.

In April 2010, Michael joined the Ticktin Law Group where he handles Business Litigation and Mortgage Foreclosure Defense Cases. Michael is involved with the local community in South Florida through his participation in the Boca Raton Chapter of Business Networking International, and as the Coordinator for the Ticktin Law Group’s participation in the American Heart Association Heartwalk.

Michael is admitted to practice in Federal Court as a member of the United States District Court, Northern District of Florida, the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida, the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.

Kelly Ann Cavanaugh

Kelly Ann Cavanaugh was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Scottsdale Arizona. After Graduating High School she moved back to Miami where she attended the University of Miami. She graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a concentration in legal studies. Before attending law school, Kelly completed an internship with the State Attorney’s Office for the 11th Judicial Circuit in Miami where she interned with a Felony Prosecutor. She then moved to Orlando where she attended Barry University School of Law. While attending Barry University, Kelly participated in the Moot Court Honors Program. She competed in national appellate oral advocacy competitions in the area of family law and contract law. She was also Vice Justice of the Moot Court Honors Board during her last year of law school.

Upon graduating law school in 2008 and being admitted to the bar, Kelly began work as an Assistant Public Defender for the 6th Judicial Circuit in Pasco County. Kelly left the Public Defender’s Office to join The Ticktin Law Group and works out of the Orlando office.

John Wagner

John Wagner was raised in the South Florida area. He attended Florida State University where in 2004 he graduated with a Bachelors degree in Criminology and a minor in Political Science. He went on to attend California Western School of Law in San Diego, California, receiving his J.D. in 2008. After graduation John moved back to Florida where he practiced insurance defense law.

John Wagner joined The Ticktin Law Group in December 2010 and is working out of our Deerfield Beach office. He is practicing in the area of mortgage foreclosure defense and other general civil litigation matters. He is a member of the Florida Bar, the California Bar, and the District of Columbia Bar.

Hugo Xavier Carrera

Hugo Xavier Carrera was born in Quito, Ecuador. After Graduating High School he moved to South Florida where he attended Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton. He graduated with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He then moved to Orlando, where he attended Barry University School of Law. While attending Barry University, Xavier participated in the Moot Court Honors Board. He competed in national appellate oral advocacy competitions in the area of constitutional law. He also served as Vice Justice of the Moot Court Honors Board during his last year of law school.

Upon graduating law school in 2010, and being admitted to the Florida bar, Xavier began work as an immigration attorney for a private law firm in Lake Mary, Florida. Xavier joined The Ticktin Law Group in January of 2011, and works out of the Orlando office. His practice includes mortgage foreclosure defense and immigration law. He is fluent in Spanish and French.

Darren Ayoub

Darren Ayoub is a 3rd generation Floridian who was born and raised in South Florida.  He graduated from Florida State University in 2002 with a degree in Environmental Studies. Following graduation Darren worked as a captain aboard a private yacht in Boca Raton. In 2005 he began his career in the legal profession as a litigation clerk for Gunster, Yoakley & Stewart, P.A. in West Palm Beach.  He worked for the firm for over two years before beginning law school at Nova Southeastern University.

As a law student Darren earned a place on Nova’s Moot Court Honor Society.  He served as a competitor and brief writer for the Pace University National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition in New York.  During his last year of law school Darren accepted a clinical position with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in Tallahassee.  Darren became a member of the Florida Bar in 2010.

Darren is also a licensed private pilot and has logged over 300 hours of flight time in his own high performance aircraft, traveling throughout the Southeastern U.S. and the Bahamas. He enjoys skiing, diving, traveling and spending any time he can in the air or on the water.

W. Chase Carpenter

W. Chase Carpenter grew up in South Charleston, West Virginia.  He is a graduate of West Virginia University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with degrees in English and Business Management with a minor in Entrepreneurship.  At WVU, Chase earned the honor of becoming a member of Phi Beta Kappa; Phi Kappa Phi; Sigma Tau Delta; and Beta Gamma Sigma.

He went on to attend the University of Florida, Levin College of Law, where he graduated Cum Laude.  Chase received a number of book awards for his outstanding work in Constitutional Law and Mediation.  During law school, Chase served as President of the Association for Law and Business and was an active Project Leader and Contributor to the Florida Business Law Journal.  He performed extensive research for projects in the areas of trade secret law and general business law.   In addition to attaining his Juris Doctor, Chase is certified by the Florida Supreme Court as a County Court Mediator.

After graduation, he took a position as an Associate General Counsel, performing regulatory compliance to the General Counsel for a specialty healthcare corporation in Tampa.  Chase joined the Ticktin Law Group in April 2011 and practices in the Tampa office.  His practice focuses on mortgage foreclosure defense and general civil litigation.

Lindsay Head

Lindsay was born in Miami, Florida and grew up in Ocala, Florida were she still maintains many ties.  Lindsay went on to attend The Florida State University in 2002.  While attending college she was elected by her peers to serve on the 55th Student Senate, representing the undergraduate studies seat in 2002.  She received the prestigious Garnet and Gold Key award honoring her leadership ability in 2003. Lindsay graduated in 2006 earning a B.A. with a double major in Literature and Philosophy.

In 2007, Lindsay moved to Jacksonville, Florida were she attended Florida Coastal School of Law.  She was a member of the Jacksonville Bar Association and the ABA student section.   While in Jacksonville, Lindsay was actively involved in a local volunteer organization, HandsOn Jacksonville, where she enjoyed working with other local volunteers to improve the lives of children in the community.  She joined The Ticktin Law Group in August 2010 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2011.  She works in the Deerfield Beach office.

Ejola Cook

Born in a small coastal town, in The Netherlands, to a Dutch Mother and a British Father, Ejola spent much of her youth living and traveling around the world. By the time she was fourteen she had lived in Nigeria, England, Holland, Virgin Islands, Guatemala and the U.S. and could speak fluent English and Dutch.

Ejola began her college studies at the University of Florida but quickly realized she wanted to learn more of the Business World, and transferred to Northwood University an entrepreneurial institution supported by such business mavens as Dave Thomas and Richard De Vos. Graduating Cum Laude with an International Business major, and enough credits for minors in Math, Science, and Social Science.

Ejola attended Nova Southeastern University’s Sheppard Broad Law Center in Fort Lauderdale. Opting for an accelerated program, she graduated with pro bono honors in only two and a half years. Never one to sit still, Ejola was President of Phi Alpha Delta, the largest organization at the Law School, Vice President of the International Law Student Society, and a member of the International Citator project.

Ejola is a member of the Florida Bar, the Federal Courts of the Southern District of Florida, and the Eastern District of Arkansas. In January of 2008 Ejola took a leave of absence from the practice of law to return to Scotland to head up the reorganization of the Melfort Mermaid restaurant, a new establishment at the Melfort Pier and Harbour. Ejola worked alongside her family once again to enhance both the restaurant and the resort.

In 2009, Ejola came back once more to the United States, although running her own firm; Ejola continues to be a part of the Ticktin Law Group in an “Of Counsel” position.

Robert Glazer

Robert Glazer is a native New Yorker who lived in the greater New York area for most of his life.  He graduated from Queens College of the City University of New York  in 1966 with a B.A. degree in Accounting, after which he attended law school at the State University of New York at Buffalo.  In 1969 he received his Juris Doctorate degree in Law.  He is admitted in New York State and before the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Over the past forty years Mr. Glazer has gained vast experience in all aspects of real estate law and finance.  He has been a senior and managing attorney in his own general practice law firm, specializing in the areas of residential and commercial real estate.  He has closed thousands of residential loans as Senior Counsel to major New York banking and mortgage banking institutions, defended residential foreclosure actions; represented many clients in tax reduction cases (tax certiorari); and represented both clients and title companies in the defense and litigation of title insurance claims against real property.  Mr. Glazer was Associate Counsel to a major New York title insurance company and a member of the New York State Land Title Association, Law and Legislative Committee.

Mr. Glazer has also been the President and Chief Operating Officer of New York mortgage brokerage and mortgage banking companies over his career.  He has originated over a thousand mortgage loans and negotiated with all the major mortgage lenders in the United States.  Between the years of 2002-2004, Mr. Glazer was a Senior Consultant to a U.S. subsidiary of an Asian real estate conglomerate, successfully negotiating and closing four merger/acquisitions of large corporations. He also was an integral part in the successful reorganization of its corporate personnel and assets during said consulting engagement.
